While The Fryery enjoys a loyal fan base, some visitors mention waiting times during busy hours as a downside. The popularity of the place can lead to a line, particularly during peak lunch and dinner times, which may be a deterrent for those on a tight schedule. Occasionally, customers have noted the limited seating, especially if dining in during busy periods, which can lead to a full house. Additionally, a few diners hope for broader menu options beyond the classic offerings, especially those seeking something a little different. Overall, these drawbacks do not overshadow the high quality and satisfaction that keeps patrons returning.
Best fish & chip shop in Whaley Bridge. Lovely staff, great choice of dishes. They even go above & beyond & do ‘specials’ like jacket potato’s with fillings etc. Fish & chips always crisp & fried in fresh clean oil. Always totally delicious!
It simply is the best BRITISH fish and chip shop in the north west. No if’s or But’s . All fresh, delicious batter and always pleasant . Very clean everywhere. And , the real test? It’s always busy
Was driving back to Liverpool last night after work and had been craving Fish and chips. After driving past various takeaways we fell upon the Fryery and it can only be described as the best Chippy I have ever been too. The fish is cooked on request and the batter was light and not greasy at all. The whole meal was incredible. The chips were amazing too. As an outsider I was made to feel like one of the locals and each member of staff said hello and made me feel welcome. Would give them 10/10 if allowed to and hope to find it again one day if working around that way!
Had lovely fish and chips whilst on holiday in Whaley Bridge they were so delicious had twice in one week, reasonably priced too. Keep up the great work. Would definitely pay a visit next time in Derbyshire. Thank you.
Quality food friendly staff reasonable prices, Good chippy to call at when passing on a day out.
Traditional chippy offering traditional fish and chips, pies, puddings, curry sauce (traditional and spicy), peas, etc. Fish is cooked to order, always the sign of a decent chippy, and the batter is crispy and tasty. I've been going most Fridays for a few years now, and the standard of the food is consistent and always good. The staff are lovely and friendly, even when it gets busy, which it does.
Absolutely delicious. OK so I only had chips and peas but they were spot on. Perfectly cooked portion size, excellent prices and lovely staff. Definitely one to re-visit.
